Location: Remote

Employment Logistics:

The Director of Middle Mile Operations leads the execution and evolution of OnTrac’s trailer and linehaul network. This role balances tactical oversight with strategic leadership, ensuring daily operational excellence while driving long-term improvements in trailer utilization, asset balancing, and network design. The Director partners closely with hub leadership, carriers, and internal teams to deliver reliable service and scalable growth across the middle mile.

The Must-Haves:

● 8–10 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations

● 5+ years of leadership experience managing cross-functional teams

● Deep knowledge of DOT regulations and fleet compliance

● Proven ability to lead both tactical operations and strategic initiatives

● Strong analytical, financial, and P&L management skills

● Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics systems

Your Mission in Motion:

● Oversee daily dispatch and real-time fleet operations, ensuring trailers and trucks move efficiently and disruptions are resolved quickly

● Maintain compliance with DOT regulations and optimize asset utilization across regions

● Build strong partnerships with hub leaders and carriers to align middle mile operations with service goals

● Lead strategic initiatives to redesign routes, balance volumes, and adapt to shifting customer demands

● Collaborate with engineering, finance, and planning teams to align middle mile strategy with company growth and profitability

● Develop and mentor middle mile teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
