Shift: Monday - Friday from 2:00pm - 10:30pm

Location: 9774 Calabash Ave Suite B, Fontana, CA 92335.

(This position is performed onsite at one of the Company’s operational facilities, unless otherwise specified in the job posting)

Compensation: The hourly pay range for this position is $30.08 – $45.12 per hour.

(Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job related factors. This position may also be eligible for shift differentials, overtime pay, or other forms of additional compensation, in accordance with applicable Company policies and law)

Employment Logistics:

Fleet Maintenance Technician I will ensure all fleet trailing equipment is inspected, maintained, and repaired in accordance with federal and state regulations as well as company standards and will ensure a safe working environment for all. The Must-Haves:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred

  • 1+ year of related experience and/or training in a mechanical setting, or an equivalent combination of education and specific work experience

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures

  • Experience as a semi-trailer maintenance technician highly preferred

  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting/moving items up to 125 pounds and working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

  • This position works outdoors in the elements; OnTrac provides PPE for all weather conditions

  • The physical activity associated with this role is considered high

  • You will regularly lift, push, pull, and/or move items averaging up to 125 pounds

  • You will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle or feel

  • You may occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear

  • Responsibilities, duties, and working conditions may be revised based on business needs, emergencies, staffing, or workload

Your Mission in Motion:

A summary of key responsibilities for the role is outlined below. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support business objectives. 

  • Fleet maintenance & inspections: Maintain and provide routine preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections on fleet trailing equipment.

  • Safety partnership & compliance: Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by following policies and procedures outlined in the Company Safety Program and partnering with Safety leadership to ensure all programs and procedures are followed.

  • Operational support: May be required to use a personal vehicle or Company vehicle to conduct business for the company.

  • Housekeeping & work area upkeep: Perform housekeeping duties, including work area clean-up, conveyor and equipment clean-up, and other general housekeeping duties as assigned.

  • Additional task support: Perform other tasks or assignments as deemed necessary by the organization based on operational needs.

  • You bring mechanical work experience that helps you contribute quickly to maintenance, repair, and inspection work.

  • You apply knowledge of OSHA requirements in daily work practices.

  • You maintain a flexible schedule to support 24-hour operations, including extended hours, weekends, and holidays when needed.

  • You stay dependable and adaptable as business needs, staffing needs, and workload shift.

The salary range above represents the national range for this position. The salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at OnTrac, and the actual base salary offered may vary depending on several factors including, but not limited to: Geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, job-related skills and competencies, market alignment, and financial considerations.
